OAG weekend – Glyders (skills weekend)

2 NIGHTS, 3 DAYS | 9th – 11th June 2023

Outdoor Adventure Girls big weekends are designed to give you the time to reconnect with yourself, get outdoors in nature and connect with other women. We now host OAG retreats all over the UK throughout the year, this being our eighth weekend away, with more to come in 2023.

Outdoor Adventure Girls – Glyders

DATE: 9-11 June 2023

LOCATION: Glyders, Wales

IMPORTANT: This weekend is a skills-based trip with the aim to give you the mountain skills you need to be safe and introduce you to the world of mountaineering. This two day adventure will get you ready to take on your own mountain adventures.

Snowdonia is a region in northwest Wales concentrated around the mountains and glacial landforms of massive Snowdonia National Park.

The rugged, mountainous terrain of Snowdonia national park makes for a fantastic weekend of exploring and pair that with award-winning restaurants and pubs, watersports activities and more, this national park in the UK has everything you could possibly need.

The park’s historic Snowdon Mountain Railway climbs to the summit of Wales’s highest mountain, Snowdon, offering views across the sea to Ireland. The national park is also home to an extensive network of trails, over 100 lakes and craggy peaks like Cader Idris and Tryfan.

Please note that this is subject to change, but it will give you an idea of what to expect.

An itinerary will be sent to all booked guests one month before the event, with all details needed to attend the weekend. There is also a WhatsApp chat for all attendees to plan car sharing and chatting before.

Our accommodation for the weekend is the amazing YHA Idwal Cottage. This eco-friendly hostel offers superb Snowdonia accommodation for activity breaks in the Ogwen Valley, Glyders and beyond. This is YHA’s longest standing hostel – follow in the footsteps of YHA’s founders and relive the walks and scrambles enjoyed by the Merseyside Group in those early years. Remember to pick up a copy of the ‘Idwal log’ at the hostel!

Due to the hostel being a self-catered only hostel we are unable to provide any food during this weekend. However, we will be recommending guests bring packed lunches for the day, and for breakfast and dinner they bring food to cook themselves. Our host Hattie may also look in to the group heading to a pub for dinner on the Saturday evening, if the group would like to.

Our accommodation for the trip will be in 4-bed and 6-bed dorms, exclusive to our group.
