THE TOUR
Since 2023, Outdoor Adventure Girls has been offering bespoke travel tours for their 40,000 members. The international trips will focus on outdoor adventure, pushing guests out of their comfort zone and creating incredible connections with other women in the most sought-after bucket list destinations on Earth.
For this OAG Overseas tour, we are heading to Uzbekistan, known for its mosques, mausoleums and other sites linked to the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean. This bucket list trip will stop at all of the major spots including Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara.
As well as giving guests some incredible experiences along the route including a visit to the Ulugbek Observatory, Samarkand city tour, Bagizagan Winery tasting, a visit to the Poikalon Complex: Kalon Minaret & Mosque and a trip to the Red Sands Desert. All of this and more is why we are so excited to take you here in 2025.

Day 1: Tashkent
Meals: Dinner
Xush kelibsiz! Welcome to Uzbekistan. Your adventure begins in the largest city in Central Asia, Tashkent. Your welcome meeting will commence at 18:00. If you arrive early, take a walk to see some of the contemporary architecture that sets this city apart from many other Silk Road destinations. Your welcome meeting will be followed by a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 2: Tashkent
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, enjoy a morning of sightseeing in Tashkent. Visit the stunning Khast Imom Complex, Chorsu Bazaar, Metro Stations and Amir Timur Square. Finish at Broadway Alley where you can find a spot for lunch and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3: Tashkent – Samarkand
Meals: Breakfast
Have an early breakfast this morning to meet your high-speed train to Samarkand at 8:00. Today you’ll visit the beautiful Ulugbek Observatory followed by the Afrosiab Museum. Later, take part in a paper-making workshop.
Konigil, a village near Samarkand has the “Meros” paper mill, founded by well-known masters the Mukhtarov brothers. Thanks to their efforts the local factory revived an ancient tradition based on old Samarkand technologies. You’ll also get the opportunity to visit the ceramic workshop. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Samarkand
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today enjoy more of what Samarkand has to offer and spend time at the Shahi Zinda Complex, Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum and Registan Square before hitting the shops at the Siab Bazaar (closed Mondays). After a busy morning of sightseeing, relax at Bagizagan Winery with a local wine tasting. This evening, experience a master class of preparing a traditional Uzbek meal with a local family in Samarkand and dine together.

Day 5: Samarkand – Bukhara
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
This morning, depart to Bukhara by high-speed train. Enjoy a half day exploring the city. See the sights of Sitorai Mohi Hosa, Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, Ismail Samani Mausoleum and Bolo Khauz. This evening, have dinner with a traditional folklore performance in Medressa.

Day 6: Bukhara
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
A UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, Bukhara is widely regarded as Central Asia’s holiest city. This morning, visit the Lyabi Khauz Complex, the ruins of the 5th-century Ark Fortress and the imposing Poikalon complex. You’ll have free time to explore the city at your own leisure before the evening when you’ll visit the private house of Rahmon, a 6th-generation suzani embroidery master. He is the only male master and is the master No. 1 in suzana embroidery in Bukhara. In his house there is a gallery where you can see his works, and there are also works preserved from generations. For dinner tonight, partake in a master class on how to cook a national meal “Dimlama” (stewed meat with vegetables).

Day 7: Bukhara – Khiva
Meals: Breakfast
Today, take the drive to Khiva. You’ll travel through the Kyzyl-Kum (Red Sands Desert) – the largest desert area in Central Asia. It’s long been inhabited by various nomadic people. Stop for photos, lunch and a walk in the desert to learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region.

Day 8: Khiva
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Take a full day to explore Khiva with your leader. This city is well preserved and perfect for exploring on foot, with impressive walls that mark the boundaries of the Old City. During your day, you’ll visit Muhammad Aminhon Madrassah, Kalta Minor, Kunya Ark, Muhammad Rahimhon Madrassa, Islom Hoja Minaret & Medressa, Juma Mosque and Tosh Houli Palace. Relax this afternoon before dinner with aperitif rooftop drinks with panoramic views of the sunset. To wrap up your day, do a cooking class with a local family where you’ll learn to make traditional Khorezmian cuisine.

Day 9: Khiva – Urgench – Tashkent
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, head to the airport to take a morning flight back to Tashkent. Then we enjoy a free afternoon in Tashkent before your farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 10: Tashkent

Services end after breakfast. Check out of the hotel before noon.

ACCOMMODATION
Our accommodation for the trip will be an array of 3-4* hotels. We have carefully chosen the accommodation to maximise your experience on this bucket list trip.
*You will be sharing a room with another guest, in a room with twin beds, with an ensuite. Rooms will be allocated randomly, unless specified otherwise.

£1,899 per person including all as stated above and must be booked via Intrepid Travel.

*There will be one transfer per trip for arrival and one for departure. Attendees will be recommended a flight, but if you book alternative flights, transfers will not be provided and will be at the cost of the guest.
INSURANCE
It is the attendee’s responsibility to have the appropriate travel insurance for this trip. It is compulsory for all guests to have travel insurance. Please let us know you have appropriate travel insurance before the trip.
