THE TOUR

Since 2023, Outdoor Adventure Girls has been offering bespoke travel tours for their 40,000 members. The international trips will focus on outdoor adventure, pushing guests out of their comfort zone and creating incredible connections with other women in the most sought-after bucket list destinations on Earth.

For this OAG Overseas tour, we are heading to the amazing country of Vietnam. On this trip we explore some of this countries most incredible spots including spending 24 hours onboard a luxurious cruise ship in middle of the iconic Ha Long Bay, we visit to the Imperial City of Hue,we spend an afternoon on the back of a motorbike and visit the spectacular Hai Van Pass, we ride an overnight sleeper train from Hanoi to Hue, we head off on a food adventure in Hoi An and we end the trip with a day trip to the iconic Mekong Delta. All of this and more is why we are so excited to take you here in 2025.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi

Xin chao! Welcome to Hanoi! Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm at the hotel and is followed by a group dinner at KOTO restaurant. This organisation is dedicated to developing the hospitality careers of disadvantaged youth. If you arrive early, Hanoi offers plenty of enticing experiences.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As the sun rises over Hanoi, you embark on a journey to Ha Long Bay, a place of otherworldly beauty. The scenic drive reveals the lush Vietnamese countryside, with rice fields stretching to the horizon. Upon reaching the harbor, you step aboard an cruise ship, your home for the next 24 hours. The ship sets sail, and you enter a realm of natural wonder.

Information: Today’s total travel time is approximately 4 hours. Your main luggage can be left in the hotel in Hanoi. Swimming in the bay from the boats is banned by the local authority. Kayaking is restricted to designated zones within the bay. Your junk-style boat has twin-share cabins with ensuite facilities and air-conditioning.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

You’d be forgiven for thinking you were still dreaming upon waking up today. Soak up the scenery of Halong Bay from your floating accommodation and take in those turquoise water views one last time before hitting the road toward Hanoi. Later on relax by Hoan Kiem Lake until you board an overnight train to Hue this evening.

Accommodation: Overnight sleeper train (1 night)

Special information: Sleeper trains typically have four or six berth compartments with bench seats that convert into sleeping bunks. A sheet, pillow and blanket are provided, although some travelers prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet. Depending on the configuration of the group, you may have to share with people of different genders or passengers who aren’t part of the group. Your leader will coordinate and give further information on the trip. Most trains have a dining carriage serving simple food, but we recommend that you stock up on snacks and drinks before departure.

Day 4: Hue

Meals Included: None

Arrive in Hue this morning and transfer to the hotel. Once the imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue holds the treasures
of the country’s royal past. Enjoy free time in the morning to rest or explore and in the afternoon we head to the Imperial City entrance to take a guided tour.

Day 5: Hue

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

See Hue like a local – from the back of a motorbike! Straddle the saddle and whiz around town with a local guide, taking in historic and contemporary sights along the way. Stop at Thanh Toan to see the 18th-century covered bridge and villagers shopping at their local market. Visit the 17th-century active Buddhist monastery of Thien Mu Pagoda. Finish at the lakeside royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc before heading back to town.

Day 6: Hue – Hoi An

This morning travel by bus through coastal rice paddies and the spectacular Hai Van Pass. After a photo stop on the way, arrive into Hoi An. Recently declared a World Heritage site, Hoi An was a major international trading port during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Today, parts of the beautifully preserved town retain the feel of centuries past. It’s also a shopping mecca, famous for its plethora of tailors. When you arrive, your leader will take you on a sightseeing walk through the Old Town to visit a handful of the city’s major attractions. You’ll also be given a sightseeing pass so you can further explore select attractions at your leisure.

Day 7: Hoi An

Meals Included: Breakfast

Today you’ll have most of your day free to explore Hoi An. Maybe browse the cobbled streets and art galleries or hire a bike and cycle through rice paddies out to An Bang Beach. If you’re craving a new look, you could pay a visit to one of the hundreds of tailors and get something special made. Hoi An is also known for its delicious regional food, so later this afternoon, unlock the flavours of the Old Town bite by bite on a Hoi An food adventure! Our Hoi An food tour starts around sunset and will walk you through local cafes, food stalls, markets, and restaurants, giving you a filling food adventure for the memory books.

Day 8: Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh City

Meals Included: Breakfast

Today take a short, early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City has a fascinating history and is arguably Vietnam’s capital of commerce and culture. After landing, take a sightseeing tour around the city by bus. Pass the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House, then stop in at the War Remnants Museum to discover some of the sobering stories of the 20-year-long Vietnam/American War.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today you’ll travel south by private minibus and spend the day exploring the Mekong Delta. On arrival, board a private boat and traverse the intricate waterways – soak up the tranquil surrounds and admire the breathtaking views as you float through this fertile landscape, often referred to as ‘The rice bowl of Vietnam’. Disembark at Ben Tre and visit the coconut gardens, stopping at a local home to sample tropical fruits and coconut jams before paddling in sampans (small rowing boats). Then take a tuk-tuk tour around the villages, learning about rural life and how the locals make their living.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City

There are no activities planned for the final day and you will be free at leisure until the appointed time for your transfer to the airport for your flight home! The hotel room is at your disposal until 12:00.

Our accommodation will be an array of hotels carefully curated for this trip. We have carefully chosen the accommodation to maximise your experience on this bucket list trip.

*You will be sharing a room with another guest, in a room with twin beds, with an ensuite. Rooms will be allocated randomly, unless specified otherwise.

£1,599 per person including all as stated above and must be booked via Intrepid Travel.

To secure your place on this tour, the deposit is £200 per person. The remaining balance can be paid in full or can be paid in installments – you can speak to Intrepid about a payment plan.

Flights are not included as we wanted to give you the option of where to fly when and where you want. If you would like help booking flights, Intrepid Travel is on hand to help you throughout the booking process and can book flights for you if required.
