Embark on a cosy two-night getaway at the The Rocks, nestled in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Start your adventure with a warm welcome and empowerment session led by your OAG host, then on the Saturday tackle the breathtaking ascent of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) supported by your fellow guests and trained Mountain Leaders. Cap off the day watching the sunset behind our accommodation, before gathering around evening fire pits for s’mores and stories.

The excitement continues with a morning Zip-Safari experience at ZipWorld in Betws-y-Coed. Enjoy so much adventure, whilst also connecting with like-minded adventurers and making new friends, with your OAG host supporting you every step of the way.

This trip is the perfect mix of challenge, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments.

Accommodation

Our accommodation for the weekend is the stunning The Rocks at Capel Curig in Snowdonia National Park, and only a short distance from the town of Betws-y-Coed. Our accommodation offers our group comfortable accommodation in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia, surrounded by stunning scenery at every angle. After a long day hiking, we can head back to our accommodation and enjoy a tasty home-cooked meal.

Our accommodation for the trip will be in 4-bed and 6-bed dorms, exclusive to our group. If you’re booking with a friend let us know and we’ll make sure you get a room together. 

NOTE: There is limited car parking at this hostel, and is first come first served.

Food

Our meals for the weekend will be prepared on-site, for breakfast and dinner. Saturday lunch is not included, as we will be out on the mountain. Please bring food with you for Saturday lunch, and energy/snacks for the hike.

Itinerary

Friday

  • Check in to The Rocks and meet your room mates
  • Welcome and introduction with your OAG host
  • Empowerment session with your OAG host
  • Group dinner at The Rocks

Saturday

  • Breakfast
  • Guided group hike up Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), via Miner’s Track or Pyg Track
  • Group picnic on the mountain (BYO) in the sunshine (hopefully!)
  • Back to The Rocks to warm up and change
  • Group dinner at The Rocks
  • Free time to relax or games night with your fellow guests
  • Fire pit at our accommodation to roast marshmallows and make ‘smores!

Sunday

  • Breakfast
  • Check out and drive to our morning activity
  • Morning activity session at ZipWorld to take part in Zip Safari, a truly epic treetop adventure, 60 feet above the ground with 21 zip lines and 17 additional elements that include rope bridges, netting, balance boards – even a treetop surfboard.
  • Group picnic lunch on the Sunday to end our weekend together

Getting here

The venue for our weekend is in the middle of the Snowdonia National Park, just outside the town of Betws-y-Coed, and is around 1 hour from Wrexham. The nearest station is Betws-y-Coed, or if driving you can coordinate car-sharing in the trip WhatsApp group.

What kit do I need?

  • Hiking/outdoor clothing including trail running shoes or hiking boots
  • A towel and any cosmetics and toiletries
  • Waterproof jacket, plus hat
  • Fleece or warm jumper
  • Comfy clothes for yoga and a yoga mat
  • Small daypack for hiking and/or when out and about
  • Water bottle and snacks
