Accommodation

Our accommodation for the weekend is the stunning YHA Castleton, a fully refurbished gothic mansion, set within 27 acres of parkland and offering stunning views across its picturesque surroundings.

Castleton itself is one of the Peak District’s most charming villages, with Peveril Castle, plenty of small, independent shops, and numerous pubs for guests to explore and enjoy. Castleton is also famed for its caves and caverns, most notably the Blue John Cavern, and is a haven for walkers, with walks up Mam Tor among a vast range of routes.

Our accommodation for the trip will be in 4-bed and 6-bed dorms, exclusive to our group. If you’re booking with a friend let us know and we’ll make sure you get a room together.

NOTE: There is car parking at this hostel, but it is limited and there may be other guests parking at the hostel too.

Food

Our meals for the weekend will be prepared on-site at YHA, for breakfast and dinner. And we will also be providing afternoon tea and snacks. Saturday lunch is not included, as we will be out in the morning up Mam Tor and do not know a specific return time. Please do bring something to eat for Saturday lunch, this could be a sandwich or you can make up lunch in the self-catered kitchen when we get back. Sunday we will go out for the ‘roast of all roasts’ at a cosy local pub to end our weekend together.
