We going to the New Forest for our Outdoor Adventure Girls weekend in October 2023.
Outdoor Adventure Girls big weekends are designed to give you the time to reconnect with yourself, get outdoors in nature and connect with other women. We now host OAG retreats all over the UK throughout the year, this being our ninth weekend away, with more to come in 2023.
OVERVIEW
Outdoor Adventure Girls weekend – New Forest

THE LOCATION
We are heading to the beautiful New Forest, one of the largest remaining tracts of unenclosed pasture land, heathland and forest in Southern England. The stunning forests of the New Forest are home to wild horses, peaceful walks and idyllic cliff top walks.
The New Forest is a top destination for breaks here in the UK with so much to see and do, and places to stay, it’s the perfect place to visit and create unforgettable OAG memories!
THE SCHEDULE
Please note that this is subject to change, but will give you an idea of what to expect. An itinerary will be sent to all booked guests one month before the event, with all details needed to attend the weekend. There is also a WhatsApp chat for all attendees to plan car sharing and chatting before.

Friday 29 Sept
5pm onwards: Check in, meet your fellow OAG guests and grab a drink from the bar inside the hostel
6pm: Welcome from OAG
7:30pm: Welcome dinner
8.00pm: Empowerment session with Katie
Saturday 30 Sept
8.30am: Breakfast
9.30am: Morning walk in Burley village with coffee stop
12.30pm: Guided canoe session on the Beaulieu River (aka Paddle to the pub!!)
2.30pm: Stop at a local pub for lunch (included)
5pm: Back to YHA
7.30pm: Dinner
8.30pm: Free time to relax or games night with the group
Sunday 1 Oct
9.00am: Breakfast
9.30am: Check out
10.30am: Guided group hike up *Remember to bring your lunch with you!
1pm: Wild swim in the sea to end our weekend
3.00pm: DEPART
*timings are approximate and will be confirmed closer towards the date of the event.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Our accommodation for the weekend is the stunning YHA New Forest, set within beautiful grounds on the edges of the Hampshire village of Burley.
Its peaceful position is close to the thatched cottages, tea rooms and cider farms which typify the area, and the coast is just a short journey away, making this a perfect spot for a family getaway.
Our accommodation for the trip will be in 4-bed and 6-bed rooms, exclusive to our group or within 2-3 bell tents that we have reserved for our group. Both options give guests access to the main building, common areas and bathrooms.
NOTE: There is car parking at this hostel, but it is limited and there may be other guests parking at the hostel too.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
- Travel to and from the weekend
- Transport to and from the activities (we can car share to lower our environmental impact)
- Saturday lunch is not included as we will be out – please bring a packed lunch with you (you can store it in the YHA fridges overnight)
*Rooms will be allocated randomly unless you request to share with someone.
