THE TOUR
Since 2023, Outdoor Adventure Girls has been offering bespoke travel tours for their 40,000 members. The international trips will focus on outdoor adventure, pushing guests out of their comfort zone and creating incredible connections with other women in the most sought-after bucket list destinations on Earth.
For this OAG Overseas tour, we are heading to the amazing country of Sri Lanka. It is home to the famous Sigiriya Rock, beautiful beaches and a chance to go on the iconic train journey from Kandy to Bandarawela. The trip includes a jam-packed 12 days of adventure with stops at all of the most amazing places to see in this magical country. All of this and more is why we are so excited to take you here in 2024.
ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival → Int. Airport – Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka!
Included activities:
- An arrival transfer based on the recommended arrival flights
- Welcome dinner at a local restaurant
Accommodation: Earls Regent, Negombo or similar
Day 2: Negombo – Dambulla
Included activities
- Early morning visit to the Negombo Fish Market
- Visit Thimble Handicraft, a handicraft project empowered by women in the village of Thalahena
- Transport to and from included activities
Accommodation: Sigiriana Resort by Thilanka or similar
Day 3: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Dambulla
Included activities
- Morning climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress
- Afternoon visit to the Dambulla Heartbeat Women Empowerment Center
- Cooking demonstration followed by Sri Lankan lunch
- Transport to and from included activities
Accommodation: Sigiriana Resort by Thilanka or similar
Day 4: Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
Included activities
- Dambulla Cave Temple Visit
- Sudu Ganga Trek + lunch in Matale
- Visit the Kandy Temple of Tooth
- Transport to and from included activities

Day 5: Kandy
Included activities
- Visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens
- Lunch at Hela Bojun – Kandy
- Kandy Private Cultural Dance Performance
- Transport to and from included activities

Day 6: Kandy – Bandarawela
Included activities
- Scenic Train Journey: Kandy to Bandarawela
- Cooking Demonstration followed by a traditional dinner
- Transport to and from included activities
Special note: Today’s total travel time is approximately 7 hours.

Day 7: Bandarawela

- Guided group hike to the stunning Upper Diyaluma Falls
- Transport to and from included activities

Day 8: Bandarawela – Yala (Tissamaharama)
Included activities
- Half-day Wildlife Jeep Safari at the famous Yala National Park (afternoon)
- Transport to and from included activities
Accommodation: Kithala Resort Tissa-Yala or similar
Day 9: Yala (Tissamaharama) – Tangalle
Included activities
- Curd and treacle-tasting experience
- Visit Rekawa Turtle Conservation Project and join Rekawa Turtle Watch (open from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am)
- Transport to and from included activities
Accommodation: Sooriya Resort & Spa, Tangalle or similar
Day 10: Tangalle
Included activities
- Explore the preserved colonial township of Galle with a Dutch Fort Walking Tour
- Transport to and from included activities

Day 11: Tangalle – Colombo
Included activities
- Bid farewell to Galle and make your way to Colombo
- Colombo City Walking Tour
- Farewell Dinner
Accommodation: Fairway Colombo Hotel or similar
Day 12: Colombo – Int. Airport (Departure)
Today marks the end of your adventure and you can depart the hotel at any time after checking out at 12 pm.
Departure Transfer Included – on a group basis.
ACCOMMODATION
Our accommodation for the trip will be an array of 3* and 4* hotels. We have carefully chosen the accommodation to maximise your experience on this bucket list trip.
*You will be sharing a room with another guest, in a room with twin beds, with an ensuite. Rooms will be allocated randomly, unless specified otherwise.
PRICE
£1,799 per person including all as stated above and must be booked via Intrepid Travel.
To secure your place on this tour, the deposit is £200 per person. The remaining balance can be paid in full or can be paid in installments – you can speak to Intrepid about a payment plan.
- All accommodation for the duration of the trip.
- All activities that are included on the itinerary.
- 11 x breakfasts, 3 x lunches, and 4 x dinners (when meals are not included we will find spots on route or recommend a place for the group)
- All transport within the country is included as part of the itinerary.
- Group transfers to and from the airport (please see note below about exclusions).
- Intrepid local guide and OAG host.
- Welcome gift bag from OAG.
*There will be one transfer per trip for arrival and one for departure. Attendees will be recommended a flight, but if you book alternative flights, transfers will not be provided and will be at the cost of the guest.
INSURANCE
It is the attendee’s responsibility to have the appropriate travel insurance for this trip. It is compulsory for all guests to have travel insurance. Please let us know you have appropriate travel insurance before the trip.
FLIGHTS
Flights are not included as we wanted to give you the option of where to fly when and where you want. As a guide, there are direct flights to Sri Sri Lanka from London from around £800 for direct flights.
However, if you want help booking flights, Intrepid Travel is on hand to help you throughout the booking process and can book flights for you if required.
