Join us for an exhilarating adventure in the heart of the Lake District. This unforgettable weekend includes a guided group hike up Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, led by expert mountain leaders—perfect for ticking this iconic challenge off your bucket list! Then you can unwind with a refreshing post-hike wild swim at Wast Water, soak in a stunning lakeside sunset, and connect with fellow adventurers during an evening games night.

On the Sunday dive into a group water activity on Wast Water before wrapping up the weekend with a hearty Sunday lunch. This retreat promises breathtaking views, lasting memories, and new connections.

Accommodation

This 19th century country manor is every bit as grand as its name would suggest. This Cumbrian hostel is often cited as a favourite due to the impressive nature of the building, not to mention its breath-taking scenery which has earned the title of ‘Britain’s Favourite View’.

YHA Wasdale Hall is set right on the shore of Wastwater, England’s deepest lake, from the hostel you can see the expanse of the lake plus the awe-inspiring mountains beyond – perfect for getting away from the pressures of everyday life and relaxing in beautiful surroundings.

NOTE: There is car parking at this accommodation, but if you can car share with someone, please do. We love our planet!

Food

Our meals for the weekend will be prepared on-site at YHA, for breakfast and dinner. Saturday lunch is not included, as we will be out all day, so please bring something to eat for Saturday lunch, such as a packed lunch.

FAQs

What kit do I need?

  • Hiking/outdoor clothing including trail running shoes
  • A towel and any cosmetics and toiletries
  • Waterproof jacket, plus hat
  • Fleece or warm jumper
  • Small daypack for hiking and/or when out and about
  • Water bottle and snacks

INSURANCE

It is the attendee’s responsibility to have the appropriate travel insurance for this trip. Please let us know if you have appropriate travel insurance before the trip. This will protect you in and run up to the trip in case you fall ill, or are injured and are then unable to make the event.
