International Day of Friendship Community Hikes

This summer, we’re celebrating the International Day of Friendship with a special series of charity walks in partnership with Mind Over Mountains and Mountain Warehouse.

Friendship has always been at the heart of Outdoor Adventure Girls. Whether it’s meeting new hiking buddies, finding your confidence outdoors or simply sharing a conversation on the trail, we know the power that connection can have on our wellbeing.

To celebrate, we’re hosting three charity walks across the UK during International Day of Friendship week, bringing women together to enjoy beautiful landscapes, meaningful conversations and time outdoors.

We are so excited to support the incredible work of Mind Over Mountains, helping more people access mental wellbeing support through nature, mindfulness and professional coaching.

And as part of the event, attendees will also receive exclusive goodies from our friends at Mountain Warehouse. Thank you to Mountain Warehouse for continuing to support our events, and our community.

Mind Over Mountains

Mind Over Mountains is an award winning charity, founded in 2020 by adventurer, speaker and mental health advocate Alex Staniforth, & Chris Spray, an international leadership consultant and trainer. Together, they created our innovative approach, which brings together walking in nature, mindfulness & professional coaching and counselling in support of good mental health & wellbeing.

Alex continues to be a trustee of the charity, combining a life of adventure & ultra challenges, motivational speaking & advocacy for our work. Chris has now stepped back from his involvement in the charity to focus on his consultancy career – but remains an active fundraiser & advocate for us. We are grateful to both of them for all they have done to bring these innovative responses to mental ill health to fruition!

Mind Over Mountains now has a small but passionate team – and won the Charity Initiative of the Year award at the National Outdoor Show – of which we are immensely proud!

Our purpose

At Outdoor Adventure Girls, we believe that nobody should have to face life’s challenges alone. By joining one of our friendship walks, you’ll be helping raise funds for Mind Over Mountains while spending time with an incredible community of women who share a love for the outdoors. Bring a friend, come solo and make new ones or simply join us for a meaningful day outside. Together, we can celebrate friendship while supporting better mental wellbeing for all.
