
Celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 with us!
Outdoor Adventure Girls for a scenic 10-mile hike from Shepherdswell to Canterbury as part of the North Downs Way National Trail and Kent Downs National Landscape’s Putting Down Routes Project. This initiative aims to make the landscape more welcoming to all, encouraging diverse communities to explore the beautiful Kent countryside.
Putting Down Routes is a collaborative project between the Kent Downs National Landscape and the North Downs Way National Trail, and is funded through The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes.

🚶 Distance: 10 miles (16 km)
⏳ Duration: 6 hours (including a break)
🔄 Route Type: Linear (return via train)

We’ll walk through picturesque landscapes, taking in the beauty of the North Downs Way National Trail before finishing at Canterbury. A lunch break is planned along the way and then we will return to Shepherdswell via train.
The route follows the Via Francigena (an ancient pilgrims route), as well as passing one of the sculptures from the NDW Art Trail.
This event is open to all experience levels. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or new to the trails, we welcome you to join us for a refreshing outdoor experience!
