THE TOUR

Since 2023, Outdoor Adventure Girls has been offering bespoke travel tours for their 40,000 members. The international trips will focus on outdoor adventure, pushing guests out of their comfort zone and creating incredible connections with other women in the most sought-after bucket list destinations on Earth.

For this OAG Overseas tour, we are heading to the amazing country of India. This trip is perfect for anyone who hasn’t been to India and wants to tick off some of the countries most iconic spots in one trip. Our introduction to India will include Thar Desert Camping, desert Jeep Safari, Jaisalmer Fort, Sadar Bazaar walking tour, saree fitting tutorial, Taj Mahal visit, Old Delhi walking tour, Mehrangarh Fort visit, a private yoga session, Bollywood film at Raj Mandir, Pink City Rickshaw Tour, Amber fort tour, and the best part? We are there for Holi, so we will be celebrating this iconic festival as a group! All of this and more is why we are so excited to take you here in 2025.

Important: Please note the above route may not be exactly the same route we will follow, but we wanted to give a visual picture of our journey. We have upgraded our tour to include a flight between Delhi and Jaisalmer instead of a long train journey.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Delhi

Meals Included: Dinner

Welcome to India! Your adventure begins in Delhi, where you will be collected from the airport and transferred to our hotel. Delhi is the gateway to the rich alluvial soils of the Ganges plain and has, according to Indian folklore, been  occupied since 2500 BC.

Later in the evening, enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Tonight, your leader will introduce you to the exciting world of Indian cuisine. Perhaps start out with some classic dishes like mutton rogan josh and paneer tikka.

Day 2: Delhi – Jaisalmer (Flight)

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Today, transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight to Jaisalmer.

Flight details: Indigo Flight 6E-123, New Delhi – Jaisalmer (1130 – 1300 Hours).

** Flight is subject to change as per availability during the time of booking, due to dynamic nature of Airlines schedule. Baggage limit on domestic flights is 15kg Checked in luggage (1 piece) + 07 kg Cabin luggage.

Arrive at Jaisalmer and transfer to your camp in Thar desert. Upon reaching, head out on a jeep safari in the Thar Desert. The Thar Desert covers 200,000 square kilometers, so while you won’t get to see it all, you will spend the day exploring the rolling sand hills before arriving at your desert camp.

Day 3: Jaisalmer

Meals Included: Breakfast

This morning, you are heading out on a walking tour with your leader to get to know this storied desert city. The citadel was built by Rawal Jaisal of the Bhati Rajput in 1156 AD, and with a history that’s been carefully recorded by the bards of Rajasthan since the 12th century, it’s not hard to imagine what life here once looked like.

Day 4: Jodhpur

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

From Jaisalmer, leave for the blue city of Jodhpur. Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city’s iconic shade of blue.

In the evening, take a walking tour and explore the local Sadar market with your leader.

Day 5: Jodhpur – Chandelao Garh

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Today start your day at Jodhpur by having a Morning Yoga Session at the hotel. Post yoga, say goodbye to Jodhpur and make the drive out to the village of Chandelao Garh.

On arrival, get your bearings during a walk through the village, then pay a visit to Sunder Rang, a project that employs local artisans, mostly women, while keeping traditional craft practices alive. Meaning ‘beautiful colours’, the vibrant pieces crafted by the women at Sunder Rang stand in contrast to the surrounding desert landscapes. More than 30 women are currently employed by Sunder Rang, with an hour of their workdays dedicated to their education. Meet the ladies who work here, browse the beautiful pieces they’ve created and learn about the impact the project has had on their lives, as well as their families and the wider village.

Day 6: Chandelao Garh – Jaipur

Meals Included: Breakfast

Enjoy a morning Yoga Session at Chandelao Garh homestay. Today, arrive at Jaipur, from Chandelao Garh. Popularly known as the Pink City, Jaipur (City of Victory) is the state capital and largest city of Rajasthan. It was founded by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727 and was planned according to Indian ‘Vastu Shastra’ principles. Proceed with your leader for a Walking and Market tour of Jaipur.

After your walk, discover a beloved part of Indian culture as you head out for a screening of a Bollywood film. Visit the Raj Mandir Cinema – this Art Deco style building is one of Jaipur’s most popular spots and has played host to many movie premiers.

Day 7: Jaipur

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

This morning, proceed to experience Pink City Rickshaw Tour. The Pink City Rickshaw Co. is a unique innovative initiative which aims to provide a new aspirational employment opportunity to 200 women from low-income households in Jaipur.

Next, visit the City Palace. The City Palace complex is spread over a large area occupying one seventh of the old city of Jaipur.

Later, visit Amber Fort. Amber Fort, originally the ancient capital of the Kachwaha’s clan from 1037 the ancient town of Amber, 12km from Jaipur, is dotted with ancient temples, Havelis, and step wells.

In the evening, proceed to a local home where you will interact with family while learning about their local food followed by a truly tasty dinner.

Day 8: Jaipur

Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch

Today get ready for an exhilarating Holi celebration at the property where you are staying. Join the carnival of colors and immerse yourself in the festivities, armed with colors, water guns, and balloons filled with colored water. Engage in playful water fights and douse your friends with hues of joy.

Initially, indulge in a milder version of Holi, exchanging colors with family and friends, offering sweets, and blowing colors into the air as a gesture of goodwill.

But let’s not keep it all tame with our friends. This is a spirited and colorful battle, filled with love and camaraderie. Your leader will divide you into teams, equip you with water balloons, water guns, and colors, and unleash the colorful fury!

Day 9: Jaipur – Agra  

Meals Included: Breakfast

Today, transfer from Jaipur to the Mughal City of Agra. (Approximately 05 hours’ drive)

Located on the western bank of the Yamuna River, the city of Agra, founded in 1504 by Sultan Sikander Lodi, was besieged in 1526 by Babur the first Mughal Emperor. Reach Agra, and first stop will be a visit to the home of a local woman who will help you choose the perfect saree and show you how it’s worn. She’ll also help you dress up with an armful of glittering bangles and a matching bindi in the traditional style. Then visit the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died giving birth to their fourteenth child in 1631, the Taj Mahal is described by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore as ‘a tear drops on the face of eternity’.

Day 10: Agra – Delhi

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Today, have a Morning Yoga Session overlooking the Taj. Later, leave Agra, and drive towards Delhi. Upon arrival, head out to explore Old Delhi.

Enjoy Cycle Rickshaw Ride through chaotic streets, such as the famous Chandni Chowk. After, take a tour to the famous spice market.

The trip ends with a farewell dinner at Haveli Dharampura, located amidst the Old Delhi, whose architectural beauty will take you back to Mughal era.

Today, check out from your hotel at Delhi, and proceed to Airport for flight back home. There are no other activities planned for the day. If you wish to stay in Delhi to further explore the city, we are happy to help in booking accommodation (subject to availability).

Our accommodation will be an array of hotels carefully curated for this trip. We have carefully chosen the accommodation to maximise your experience on this bucket list trip.

*You will be sharing a room with another guest, in a room with twin beds, with an ensuite. Rooms will be allocated randomly, unless specified otherwise.

£1,799 per person including all as stated above and must be booked via Intrepid Travel.

To secure your place on this tour, the deposit is £200 per person. The remaining balance can be paid in full or can be paid in installments – you can speak to Intrepid about a payment plan.
